  • H&M customer review by Hany Elbery

    Hany Elbery - May 29, 2023

I bought a shirt with a price tag and when I paid they charged me 5 extra then I saw the receipt and went back... the manager said the price changed and we missed this item (there were more than 10 pcs of it) he said you had a discount on it so that's enough so either you take it as you paid or we can return it. in a very rude manner

  • H&M customer review by Nicki

Rating pertains to service. TERRIBLE customer service, and unfortunately at manager level. The Chinook store manager was okay with a customer leaving her store feeling like a security camera needed to be checked at the Market Mall H&M to provide the solution to the customers problem. When in fact, it was not the customers problem, but the stores problem. I went in to return a pair of boots bought at Market Mall. Initially, the store manager refused to return the boots because there was no tag. I told her there was no tag when I bought the boots. I asked if we could check the tag of the same exact boots six feet away on the wall. However, all three boots on the shelf did not have a tag on them. Then, she refused to return the boots because the code on the receipt did not match the code inside the boot. I asked her to call the other store to see how they would have processed the transaction. She insisted that I needed to go to the Market Mall location and have the security camera checked for what the cashier did, implying perhaps the cashier scanned another shoe because the code on the receipt was different. She also said something along the lines she can tell who helped me but then I asked about each cashier having their own id. Anyways, it was clear she did not want to help me. So, I called the H&M number available online myself, right in front of her and other staff standing by. After being on hold for half an hour, I figured I would ask her again to call the *direct* line since the generic H&M number on google had me on hold for 30 minutes. So I went back to the front. This time another manager came to help me. But this manager had witnessed my conversation with the first manager so I knew she somewhat knew why I was in the store. I asked her for one thing, if she could help me and directly call the Market Mall H&M since I had been on hold for half hour. She tried to tell me that the cashier who helped me at the time of purchase would need to be spoken too. I asked her, if I was to buy these shoes from you today, what would you do, can you please show me how you would scan them. When she entered the code inside the boot, another product code showed on her screen.. which would have printed on the receipt.. which would have been IDENTICAL to the one on my receipt. Needless to say, the return was finally processed. There are two very concerning and disheartening aspects of this experience: #1: A store manager thought it was appropriate to tell a customer to leave her store, go to the other store and have the security cameras checked... What a terrible way to have any customer leave any store. #2: A store manager had to be walked through basic problem solving skills by a customer... What is happening to customer service? I will not return to this location solely based on poor service.
